How do i get Google to reindex my site ?

Have you ever came across this situation ? Have you ever thought that your site needs to be re-indexed by Google again ?

I think most of the web site owners had this thought in their mind. even me too ..  When we need to do it  and How we can we do it ?

These are the situations when we think about the re-indexing

1. When we  have changed our site content, and still Google shows the old content in their search result
2. When somebody copies our site content and Google ranks their site more than us for this content
